The former late great Green Party of the United States

Within the few months prior the 2000 General Election, I became VERY suspicious when I saw full page ads in national magazines and newspapers (ie, USA Today) which were promoting the Green Party. I know the Greens aren't rich enough to buy any full page ads for a regional little alone a national periodical.

I suspected that Republicans bought those ads. I was right. In December, journalists followed the advice of the Gnome of Texas, Ross Perot, and they "followed the money" behind those expensive ads. The reporters found that no one within the Green Party was approached .

When the party you hate the most, in my case it's the Republican party, has members who contribute to buying full page ads in national periodicals for your small 3rd party, then you are given a very powerful clue that you may be doing something WRONG.

My favorite Greens: Peter Camejo, CA; Ralph Nader, DC; Jay Leno; David Letterman; & Phil Donohue.

Why I left the Green Party

Too conservative Presidential candidate

It was hard to find the distinction of the Democrats' John Kerry's opinion of what he would do differently from Republican Shrub Junior regarding U.S. troops in Iraq.

It was hard to find the distinction of the Greens' David Cobb's opinion of what he would do differently from Democrat John Kerry regarding U.S. troops in Iraq.

Only independent Ralph Nader had a clear, distinct, and sober position: OUT NOW.

America is tooo conservative to give 3rd parties the slightest chance

Us San Francisco pot smoking hippies of the late sixties and early seventies thought that our collective American consciousness would become enlightened.

Man, were we stoned.

With the "war on drugs" (thanks to the government bureaucratic whores working on behalf of the shareholders of the murderous alcohol and tobacco industries, ie over 500,000 die each year in THIS country from those 2 addictions) has it that just being in possession of the benign weed, marijuana, can get you tossed into prison and and destroy your career.

America has gotten sooo conservative that newspapers owned by Republican families, The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times, are referred to as "the liberal press." You know: that liberal press which forgot to remind us during the last 2 General Election campaign cycles that the 3rd Bush brother, Neil, was involved in a savings & loan scam 2 decades ago inwhich American families lost $Billions. And in 2004, under-played the fact the White House was comandereed 4 years prior.

Almost every other Green is nuts

I love California, but not Californians. Likewise, I admire the Green Party platform. But way too many of the members are jerks, liars, harrassers, slanderers, and racists.

I was slandered and harrassed

More about this later - after I talk to my lawyer.

For you Extrovertives (Jungs definition, not Webster's) who are always adjusting your life to appease others:

I'm an Introvertive. I define myself. I'm use to being ahead of the curve. I always assume I'm in the minority position, since so few think through issues as intensely as I do.

So, if your into ridiculing those of us who don't share your herd mindset: yawn, ho hum.

Why I registered independent
