As the only non-news show presenting substansive content, I highly recommend the new ABC-TV series Nothing Sacred. Since 8 numb-nut sponsors have abandoned these meaningful scriptwriters in just the first three weeks, you know that this is a must-see show. Real people address real issues. Since the September 25th show exposed the monsters who manipulate our economy and unnecessarily leave people in low-pay jobs or starving, you can see why the corporate hitmen want to censor this pithy commentary.
Lawyers who work for the major corporations are hitmen. They have no morality. Ethics? Forget it. City councils and pueblo leaders are bought-off to change municipal laws, so that mines and factories can pollute and the local citizens have NO recourse. The legislators of at least ten states have been bribed to change their state laws so that: 1 - If they confess they've polluted before the state pollution control agency discovers the mess, then that corporation doesn't owe penalty fines, and 2 - whistle-blowers within the company can be fired without recourse. Lawyers of the multinational corporations have lunch with the national representatives at the United Nations building and dictate to those representatives what new legislation they WILL submit before the assembly. Perhaps that body should be renamed United Corporations. Since the major corporations are the storefronts owned by the mega-wealthy families, the corporate lawyers, also, are the lawyers representing the mega-wealthy families. Currently, there is an international conference where the lawyers are DICTATING to the third-world governments that those governments have to allow the corporations free flow of capital into and out of their countries with no hinderances and no questions asked. If those third-world governments place ANY restrictions, then those corporations will just take their "development" capital to another more compliant regime.
Two hundred plus years ago, when the first laws were written in America regarding incorporation, the laws clearly stated that such status was a gift from the government (read "the people"), not a right. And that if the genereal welfare of the people was ever endangered by a corporation, then their license would be revoked and they could no longer conduct business as a legal entity. This is the best legal stick we have at our disposal to force the mega-corporations from taking away our rights, polluting our environment, poisoning us with genetically altered food, and shackling us to small paychecks. But after a century of brainwashing, most judges think that corporations are individuals" with "rights" and believe that we can't use Quo Warranto to pull the plug on the abusive corporations who are wantonly violating OUR rights. Do you really believe that American foreign aid really goes toward improving the lives of the poor in third-world countries? You've been watching too much television. That money goes toward bribing the power elite in those countries to stay in bed with Washington, rather than going to bed with Moscow or Beijing. My first wife and I traveled through Quito, Ecuador in 1989. It was common knowledge that the sons of the power elite, in Quito, can rape whoever they want and get away with it. Your tax dollars at work.
The percentage of Americans who vote or even bother to register to vote is lower than than other "free world" country. Marx and Lenin said that "Religion is the opiate of the people." But they said that before the invention of the television. With the mega-corporations advertising and controlling the creative content of the TV shows and owning the TV stations and therefore the content of the news reports, we only hear what they want us to hear. If you believe that we have a two-party system then you've been watching too much TV.
The nuclear arms race was/is a fraud. The Cold War is a hustle to fool the people of Russia to be obedient workers and to fool the people of America to be obedient workers. "Mutually Assured Destruction" is a cover for a policy of stimulating the economy so that the rich can get richer. Fear is one of the tools the patriarchy has been using the last 7,000 years to stay in power. The other two tools are violence and the threat of violence.
After Jesus died, the disciple Thomas went to visit family and friends in Kerala Province, on the southwest coast of India. Today, you'll find seven Church of Thomas in Kerala Province. This is the most CHRISTIAN of any church, since it is the ONLY church founded by a disciple who KNEW Jesus. Not the Syrian Church. Not the Coptic Church. Not the Armenian Church. Not the Church of Constantinople (Orthodox Patriarch in Istanbul). And definitely not that 7th Century splinter Church of Rome.
We'll have the integrity that the Democrats don't have. And we'll have the humanity that the Republicans don't have. Why have the politicians of the major parties become the shills, stooges, and whores of the mega-corporations? You've voted the Republicans and Democrats into office, but they obviously are NOT working for YOU.
Halloween. We'll put on masks and pretend to be something other than we are. Just like the Republicans and Democrats. The Celtic Halloween and the Mexican Dia de la Muerte are both about celebrating death, or rather acknowledging death as an integral part of life. Americans are afraid to contemplate death. We'll contemplate the death of the Republican and Democratic parties. Since the "christian" church has appropriated every historical pagan holiday and adopted them for their own political machinations, we'll flaunt this sole surviving pagan holiday to reveal how un-Christ-like most "christians" are.
